CEF-Digital calls are now open: €323 million is available for co-funding the deployment of digital connectivity infrastructures

This call is the first launched in the framework of the second Work Programme for the digital part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF-Digital), which defines the scope and objectives of the EU-supported actions aimed to improve Europe's digital connectivity infrastructures until 2027. These actions will receive a total funding of around €865 million over 2024-2027.

The deadline to apply is 13 February 2025.  

The calls cover the following areas:  

• 5G Large scale pilots (large scale 5G stand-alone infrastructure), with a budget of €105 million.
• Backbone connectivity for Digital Global Gateways (mainly submarine and terrestrial cables), with €128 million for studies and works.
• Quantum Communication Infrastructure – The EuroQCI initiative (Quantum Communication Infrastructure for connections between Member States, including OCTs), with a €90 million budget.

Who can apply? 

The CEF-Digital calls are open to public or private entities (including joint ventures) established in EU countries, including in overseas countries or territories. Cross-border and international cooperations are also possible under certain conditions. Participation is subject to security restrictions, which are defined in each call text.
